As part of our efforts to support student learning, four new portables were installed in the main parking lot. This will result in changes to student parking availability and traffic flow on campus. The potential plan was for parking to the north of OHS. That is no longer a viable site for student parking
We understand that these adjustments may affect daily routines, and we appreciate your cooperation in following the updated parking guidelines. To help ease the transition, we have provided a revised parking map. We encourage students and families to plan accordingly and allow extra time for arrival and departure.
As a reminder from OPD, drivers must follow all laws about parking covered in their driver's training.
- No blocking driveways, alleys, intersections, or sidewalks
- No parking in the City of Orting marked "No Parking" zones
- No parking on private property or in business lots
- No parking at stop signs, on grass, in handicapped spots without a pass, and near fire hydrants
Please see the map below and more instructions about where to park.
Our Strategic Plan
Strategic Plan
The District's strategic plan is a pathway to successfully fulfill our promise to connect with, inspire and empower our students. We built this strategic plan to provide system coherence and focus our work on five critical student learning outcomes. This plan lays out our vision, strategies and measures by which we will attain these goals.

Over spring break, we began installing four portable classrooms in the main parking lot at Orting High School. This addition is part of our ongoing effort to address overcrowding, as the high school has reached its capacity with no room left for expansion inside the building. The portables will be used starting in the 2025–26 school year, and early installation allows time for necessary setup.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Central Pierce Fire & Rescue, Graham Fire & Rescue, and Orting Valley Fire & Rescue are committed to enhancing safety in our community by providing free carbon monoxide (CO) alarms in all four schools within the Orting School District over spring break.
Leadership from 13 school districts in Pierce and King County signed a memorandum of understanding last month with the Puyallup Tribe to coordinate, engage in, and support meaningful consultation on education about Tribal culture and history.
