Sophomores

Your 10th grade year should be focused on finding your future vision. Are you taking challenging courses? Are you a member of 'something' at OHS? These tips are provided by Jostens
- Visit your school counselor again. Checkin time. Are you starting year 2 off on the right foot? Do you still need help finding your place or interests. Can you take dual credit courses to help you down the road?
- Get serious about researching careers and/or colleges or programs. At OSD, we want you to be successful after you leave our District in college, career or life. What does this look like for you at this point?
- Begin creating a high school portfolio. At the end of next year, you will want to gather all of your experiences, volunteer hours to begin application processes. Stay organized now and keep records.
- Update your personal graduation plan. Get into your SchooLinks and jupdate all the sections. There are spaces in there to help you review your goals, take interest surveys or the ASVAB.
- Prepare for testing. Take the PSAT on campus. Take practice SAT/ACT tests before next year when the score counts.
- Stay active in school! Try to assume a leadership position or class. Join a new club. Start something new for your campus through a club.
- Continue to volunteer. How close to the graduation mandatory 25 hours of community service are you?
